Bangkok’s funky, five-star Dream Hotel offers futuristic rooms, fantastic Asian and Western breakfasts and an unbeatable location on the Sukhumvit Road. Would-be celebrities, hip couples, business travellers and nightlife aficionados all pitch up here to enjoy its excellent value for money.
Unbeatable. Right in the heart of Bangkok’s nightlife strip along Sukhumvit Road and close to BTS Nana and Asok, as well as MRT Sukhumvit.
Address: 1233 Chareonkrung Road, Suriyawong, Bangrak, Bangkok, 10500, Thailand.
Style & character
For those who like their hotel to be an experience in itself, the Dream delivers on almost all fronts. This place oozes Kubrickian cool from its glitzy bright lobby all the way to the über-modern rooftop pool and adjacent bar.
Service & facilities
Young, prompt, professional and switched on, the staff will even dispense advice on some of the scams to watch out for in Bangkok.
- Fitness centre
- Room service
- Steam room/hammam
The bright rooms are as much a futuristic dream as the rest of this funky establishment. As one might expect, Wi-Fi is free, the flat screen TV is huge and while some might feel a little cramped, it’s fine unless one intends to spend the entire day in the room. And the blue sleeping light is quirky.
Food & drink
The post-modern vibe continues in the hotel’s restaurant Flava. A fantastic breakfast spread – both Asian and western – is included in the room tariff and diners can choose from an extensive menu of Thai western fusion dishes, while watching the nightlife outside. DJs spin discs in the lounge.
A stirring Dali-esque experiment in fusion cuisine, Flava Restaurant introduces the exotic East to the whimsical West. And the result is absolutely mesmerizing. Around this second-floor dining room, vibrantly coloured walls are adorned with authentic mosaics, lock paper and striped carpeting. Locals and hotel guests alike sit around the tables talking as laughter fills the air. Plates, bowls and trays are skillfully loaded with fanciful Western-Thai fusion cuisine. The work of Chef Booncherd Kaewplang is an Appetizers champion chef of Krabi, Thailand who has 25 years experiences in Western and Thai Mediterranean culinary with a variety of restaurants and leading hotels in Thailand such as Sirocco at The Dome – State Tower, The Westin Grand Sukhumvit, The Plaza Athenee Bangkok including Germany and Switzerland.
